What Is The Best Treatment For TMD?

There are many philosophies and methods to treat TMD in which doctors believe. Dr. Menchel has been exposed to all of these and finds some benefit in almost all of them. But he strongly rejects a broad, universal approach in which there is one cause of jaw problems and all patients should be treated the
same way.

In Dr. Menchel’s 17 years of treating thousands of TMD patients, he has found that every patient has a unique set of symptoms and problems, and that treatment must be individualized and customized for each patient to ensure that treatment’s success.

Dr. Menchel’s philosophy of treating TMD includes:
   1. Make a proper diagnosis by determining where the pain is coming from.
   2. Treat it as conservatively and simply as possible.
   3. Prevent it from relapsing as a chronic problem.
